Whatever you do,
Just keep on going. Iām sick of inspirational messages. Youāre thinking that too, right? No one knows me, no one knows my life, how can they think their cute little messages are going to help me? But I know one thing for sure and thatās that quitting whatever youāre trying to accomplish isnāt the answer. Iāve had a lot of surprise loss in my life, And I didnāt want to get out of bed for several weeks. Iāve had numerous rejections regarding my creative writing career, And most recently Iāve been dealing with an invisible immune disorder that slows me down a little, tires me out, and is a little bit tough because itās invisible to others This is not an inspirational message itās just my truth. You never know whatās around the corner! Eight weeks ago I began a new journey that involved yoga four times a week. Part of the reason I started yoga was because I was waiting around to hear from publishers about my latest project and it was driving me a little bonkers and I needed something to keep me busy besides trying to write a new novel. Ive thought about quitting writing a few times over the last few years. Instead, something inside me told me to just keep going. Keep believing. Keep doing things you love. Keep trying to inspire others because Lifting others up lifts me up. And try new things! Today, for the first time in my life I did 108 continuous sun salutations. At 50, I wanted to stop. I thought My back and wrists couldnāt take it anymore. What kept me going? I think it was the realization, as I looked up at the sun and the bright blue sky, that putting in the effort and never quitting what you set out to do is the best part of the whole journey. Iāve had 13 books published and surprisingly, the best part has been in that striving, In that place where you surprise yourself that you still have steam and you still have enough energy and drive to keep working towards your goal. Maybe I got a kind but final rejection letter today from a book publisher. But I also did 108 sun salutations under a brilliant blue sky. Maybe My dreams wonāt turn out exactly as I planned.
